Housed in the Tippie College of Business, the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center has been educating students on UI's campus for over 20 years. Our campus-wide approach offers academic programs with hands-on learning opportunities for any University of Iowa student, regardless of their field of study. With a wide variety of real-world learning opportunities, it won’t be long before you’re thinking like an entrepreneur.
Which track is best for me?
With two unique entrepreneurial majors and four certificate programs, every student across campus has the opportunity to learn how to think with an entrepreneurial mindset. Discover below which option is best for you.

This major is specifically designed to teach entrepreneurial skills that will prepare you for a variety of exciting career opportunities. This program will shape you into an entrepreneurial-minded leader, innovative manager, and strategic problem-solver – differentiating you from the crowd.

This major focuses on business leadership. Offering a combination of business and liberal arts approaches, the program allows students to enhance their skills in communication, leadership, innovation, and critical thinking. This major is also offered online.

This certificate teaches the fundamentals of business while placing emphasis on entrepreneurship theory and practice. This certificate is designed to be the perfect complement to ANY undergraduate degree, whether you want to start a business or quickly advance in a variety of fields. This certificate is also offered online.

This certificate recognizes that innovation is crucial. The program combines engineering technology, entrepreneurship, and business education to position students for success in today’s competitive work environment.

This certificate helps students develop the skills required for creating market-based opportunities in the arts, such as starting a performing arts business, promoting their work as artists, leading arts-based ventures, and sustaining an arts-based career.

This certificate prepares students to succeed in the fast-changing world of mass communication. Students will invent new revenue streams or business models for media companies, create new media products, work as part of an innovation team for an established media company, or even build a new business.
