Biography

Phil serves as the business liaison working with companies and organizations to identify opportunities for collaboration with students, Iowa JPEC, and the college. He is one of the instructor/mentors for the business consulting class and teaches the Iowa JPEC academic internship class. His duties include recruiting clients and students for the Iowa Innovation Associates internship program and consulting clients for the EMI student consulting teams. He has experience in business-to-business sales, and training/management in both the private sector and academia. He has worked as director of professional development in the College of Engineering at UI and cooperative education coordinator for the College of Business and Natural Sciences at the University of Northern Iowa, following his first career in industrial/business sales. He earned his BA in speech from the University of Illinois in 1979 and his MA in business leadership from Upper Iowa University in 1998.
