Annette Schulte has worked in communications for nearly 25 years, beginning with journalism. The pinnacle of those 20 years was serving as The Cedar Rapids Gazette’s first female managing editor. (The paper was founded in 1883.) She launched the company’s experimental education project, which explored and advocated for K-12 innovation, and organized Eastern Iowa’s first IgniteEducation event to showcase teachers’ efforts. Ready for innovation in her own life, Annette changed course to marketing and went to work marketing the professional services of an engineering firm. She now provides marketing support for the Jacobson Institute for Youth Entrepreneurship. Annette is a 1990 graduate of the University of Iowa in journalism and English.
