IdeaStorm spring 2018 winners

The spring 2018 IdeaStorm competition brought over 30 students to MERGE to pitch their business idea- in less than a minute! Each semester, students from majors all across campus familiarize themselves with the pitching process at IdeaStorm. Participants are encouraged to pitch a new business idea to compete for $1,500 in cash prizes.

Students who participated represented the following colleges: Tippie College of Business, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, College of Engineering, and more!

Many great ideas were presented at this semester’s IdeaStorm. Congratulations to the following winners from the spring 2018 IdeaStorm:

1st Place: Edo Mwenda, $500 for Prescription Drug Blockchain Platform: Provide patients with a web platform for access to prescription drug information in sub-Saharan Africa to protect them from counterfeit drugs.

2nd Place: Ben Lamar and Hunter Orthmann, $400 for Co-Clear Audio: Wireless music device for cochlear implants.

3rd Place: Bai Zhu Schmillen, $300 for DNA Possibilities: Place for DNA to be stored for the possibility finding a family member.

4th Place: Austin Kloewer, $200 for MugShots: Coffee mugs with your own portrait.

5th Place: Kate Yoder, $100 forForever Green: A phone application for 4-H members and volunteers.

Congratulations once again to everyone who competed in this competition! The next IdeaStorm will take place in the fall 2018 semester.
