Congrats to all our 2016 Rose Francis Elevator Pitch Winners!

The Rose Francis Elevator Pitch Competition was held on November 15-16, 2016. Open to all University of Iowa students, the annual elevator competition invites both early stage businesses (day 1) and validated student businesses (day 2) to present their pitch to a panel for their shot at cash prizes to help support their business. This competition is co-sponsored by Iowa JPEC and Starman Foundation and awards a total of $20,000 in cash prizes.

The 2016 Rose Francis Elevator Pitch Competition brought over 50 student teams from a variety of colleges across campus, to the Pappajohn Business Building to share their ideas. Congratulations to all of our 2016 winners listed below!


First Place: $1,500 – Nothsor Systems LLC

Nothsor Systems is a custom electronics company that works with hobbyists and startup companies to develop, manufacture, and sell specifically designed electronics for use in a wide variety of industries including: hydroponics, robotics, and home DIY projects. Currently they are raising funds for the first production batch of top-of-the-line motor controllers.

First Place: $5,000 – National College Gaming Association (NCGA)

The National College Gaming Association was founded to give gamers the experience and exposure they need to make it in today’s highly competitive eSports environment. NCGA is actively building a platform to give collegiate eSports athletes the ability to grow in this new and exciting industry through tournaments, connections, and additional resources.
