Palesa Mokomele has over seven years of experience in the fishing industry; most of which spent as a communicator in the public service. Currently, Palesa co-runs Ezabalobi Media, a social impact media company that produces a monthly newspaper, Thetha Mlobi, for the small-scale fishing industry and the fishing industry at large. Thetha Mlobi is a niche publication that provides a platform for the fishing industry to communicate, share information, and drive resources to under-resourced fishing towns. Her newspaper is currently circulated to over 3,000 people. Palesa plays an advisory role in the industry and has been invited to give talks internationally. She also volunteers in a women's empowerment non-governmental organization.
