Daniela Ratiarisoa has three years’ experience in the business and entrepreneurship sector, focusing on women and girl’s information technology capacity building and improving the livelihoods of the fishermen community. Currently, Daniela is the director executive of Viavy Fish Shop, a social venture that aims to improve the incomes of fishermen in North and Western Madagascar. Since her company’s creation, Viavy has empowered 154 people in 10 fishers’ families and 36 fisher’s daughters by providing educational opportunities. During this time Daniela also served as an intern for the International Trade Board of Madagascar where supported close to 100 entrepreneurs in incorporating their venture to export on the international market. Since starting VIAVY, Daniela has also started the program DigiLady that fosters girl digital education and empowers women in ITC careers. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Daniela plans to continue her work on improving livelihoods of the fishermen community in all coastal regions of Madagascar and to empower women economically.
