Lunch with a keynote speech from Fritz Duroseau, a board member of the Central Bank of Haiti, a member of the Monetary Policy Committee and President of the Audit Committee of the bank.
Breakout Sessions | 2:15 pm - 4:25pm | Each session will last around an hour and will repeat twice during this time period. Attendees will be able to decide which order they would like to attend the sessions in.
Safe T Home & Sukup’s Entrepreneurship Initiatives in Haiti
Emily (Sukup) Schmitt of Sukup Manufacturing Co. will be hosting a breakout session on their entrepreneurship initiatives in Haiti and their Safe T Home. Sukup has been manufacturing the Safe T Home since 2010 and are found in Haiti, some African countries, and Peru.
Best Practices for Sustainable Involvements in Haiti
A panel focused on refocusing churches, non-profits and philanthropic interventions in Haiti to more sustainable approaches using entrepreneurship and supporting local goals and objectives. The panel includes:
- Tim Dwight: Former NFL & Iowa football player
- Dumas M. Siméus: Chairman & Founder of Organisation Sové Lavi (Saving Lives)
- Tony Bedard: CEO of Frontier Co-op
- Mike Laas: President of J.H. Laas Company
NETWORKING RECEPTION - 4:30-6:00pm
A reception will follow at the Vue Rooftop bar and restaurant located on the 12th floor of the Hilton in collaboration with Iowa John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center Advisory Board Members. Live jazz and Afro-Caribbean music will be played and hors d’oeuvres will be served.
