The 1 Million Cups Iowa City (1MC) program offers local upstart entrepreneurs an opportunity to present their companies to a diverse audience of entrepreneurs, advisers and community members.

Iowa Startup Games

Team up, pitch ideas, and create a business in a weekend. Dive into the entrepreneurial culture with your classmates at Iowa Startup Games! This is a three-day event where students, from all areas of study, pitch their ideas to have an impact. After you share, you will form teams and work together to bring the best ideas to life. By the third day, each team will pitch to a group of panelists for a chance to win cash prizes. You will learn problem-solving skills, have the opportunity to meet with community members, and begin to think like a creative entrepreneur. Bring your ideas to life in a creative and collaborative weekend.

The Iowa Innovation and Entrepreneurship Honors, hosted by the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center recognizes the outstanding entrepreneurial accomplishments of our alumni, students, faculty, staff, and Venture School participants. Recipients of these awards exhibit passion, devotion and innovation in planning and deploying their startup/business and have made significant progress over the years as determined by jobs created, revenue generated, or other metrics.
