What is an elevator pitch?

The term “elevator pitch” comes from the amount of time that it would take an elevator to reach a desired floor while an entrepreneur shares their business idea. An elevator pitch is essentially an overview of a business idea or commercial opportunity. Entrepreneurs will often be asked to give their elevator pitch so an individual can judge the validity of an idea and team based on the quality of the entrepreneur's elevator pitch.
