Disclaimer:

If you place in this competition you will be required to set-up a Vendor ID for your business, if your business does not already have one. Non-University of Iowa students will receive their prize money through their respected school. Prize earnings are intended to go towards advancing businesses.

It is the team’s responsibility to protect any confidential or trade secret information included or used in the development of the applicant’s business plan. Proposals will be handled confidentially, but judges will not be required to sign non-disclosure statements. Once submitted, executive summaries become part of the Competition and will not be returned. Applicants are advised to keep their own copies for reference. If chosen as a winner, applicant(s) grant the Competition the right, without compensation, to publish finalist names and company names, non-financial information, photographs, and video and audio recordings, for editorial, public relations, promotional, and advertising materials. Winners must also report back to the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center about their business when requested. Winners will be responsible for any tax and/or tax consequences of the seed grant award. Awards will be made payable to the business. Winning businesses will need a Federal Tax ID number in order for prize money to be distributed. All decisions made by the judges on all matters relating to the Competition will be final. The Competition reserves the unrestricted right to interpret these guidelines, and to alter, amend or change them, at its discretion.
