We are currently seeking an event coordinator!

The John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center (Iowa JPEC) in the Henry B. Tippie College of Business seeks an event coordinator who will coordinate, plan and manage events. This person will be responsible for all aspects of event management and promotion, from the initial planning stages through event clean up and documentation/reporting. This position is responsible for working collaboratively with the Communications Specialist for event specific marketing.  Successful applicants must have a valid driver’s license and be able to handle physical requirements of event set-up and take down. Responsibilities will require some travel and time outside the 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday work week.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Coordinate and execute logistics for all events
  • Reporting and documentation for events and programs.
  • Assist in the creation and delivery of event promotion materials, identify/ compile targeted invite lists and compose/send emails to event populations.
  • Gather feedback, provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Participate and assist in the coordination of projects and events to build relationships with partners.
  • Identify new vendors and manage current relationships with key vendors.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external constituency groups.
  • Identify and assist in the coordination of appropriate promotional plans for specific events.
  • Represent the University on behalf of the Iowa JPEC program.
  • Work with vendors to get most cost effective quotes for event execution.
  • Determine costs and provide input to budget development. Monitor designated segments of project budget.
  • Maintain Events Calendars for Iowa JPEC.
  • Prepare receipts for monthly reconciliation.
  • Lead internal event planning team.
  • Assist with Student Org groups.
  • Schedule monthly meetings and provide training, mentoring, networking, and career development opportunities.
