Q: What has your career path been? What words would you use to describe it?
A: I have been extremely fortunate to know what I wanted to do from a young age (program computers), and get a job doing that while also exposing me to new skills while in college (bioinformatics), and then to be in the amazing position to start a business right out of school!
Words to describe this: Fortunate/Lucky, Challenging, Exhilarating
Q: What’s a work experience that you will never forget?
A: The first time we landed a large contract, was quite a proud and satisfying moment. Given where we are currently headed, I think we have a lot of those experiences still to come.
Q: What did you originally want to be when you grew up?
A: I wanted to write video games. I have dabbled in that in the past, but I really enjoy the challenges I get to tackle on a daily basis, so I think I made a good choice.
Q: If you could go back in time to give yourself some advice about your career what would it be, if anything?
A: Over the first 6-8 years of our business I think we were a little too internally focused. I would tell myself to go out and network more, do a bit more “business development” and make a few (slightly) more risky decisions. I still think we would be in a similar spot as today, but might have gotten here faster.
Q: What has been your happiest moment in life?
A: The birth of my daughters, both equally at the same level of happiness of course.
Q: What’s a fun fact about you?
A: I have done an Ironman Triathlon.
