Certificate in Entrepreneurial Management
Beginning fall 2008, the requirements to earn the Certificate in Entrepreneurial Management will change slightly. Students who are currently enrolled in entrepreneurship courses or have previously completed entrepreneurship courses and have applied to the certificate program before August 1, 2008, will be required to complete the previous program requirements. Students who are currently enrolled in 06T:120 Entrepreneurship and New Business Formation (spring or summer 2008) or have already completed this course are strongly encouraged to apply for the Certificate in Entrepreneurial Management prior to August 1, 2008. Click on the appropriate link for your college of enrollment to apply for the certificate.
Students interested in pursuing the entrepreneurial certificate who will start the program in fall 2008 or later, should apply to the program after completion of 06T:120 Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
Undergraduate Certificate Program Requirements (Starting Fall 2008)
Students may enter the program as sophomores. To earn the Certificate in Entrepreneurial Management, students take 18 semester hours of course work, which must include:
- 3 s.h.- 06T:120 Entrepreneurship and Innovation (formerly Entrepreneurship and New Business Formation)*
- 3 s.h.- 06T:133 Entrepreneurial Finance (formerly Capital Acquisition and Cash Flow Management)
- 3 s.h.- 06T:134 Entrepreneurial Marketing
- 3 s.h.- 06T:150 Managing the Growth Business
- 6 s.h.- Electives (see below)
* For fall 2008, students may choose from one of the following options to meet the corequisite of 06T:120:
a) Students must have completed or be enrolled in 06A:001 (or its equivalent) and 06M:100 (or its equivalent).
b) Students must have completed or be enrolled in 06T:113 Basics of Small Business Accounting or 06A:001 (or its equivalent) and 06T:116 Basics of Small Business Marketing or 06M:100 (or its equivalent).Beginning spring 2009, the corequisite for 06T:120 will be 06T:050 or 06A:001 and 06M:100.

Students may apply up to 6 semester hours of transfer credit toward the Certificate in Entrepreneurial Management with approval of the entrepreneurship program executive director.
