Sigma Nu Tau

Sigma Nu Tau

SIGMA NU TAU is an entrepreneurial honor society for students who value entrepreneurship, leadership, and academics. Being a part of this organization gives individuals the opportunity to gain meaningful relationships with other students who share similar values, learn from successful entrepreneurs, and network with potential employers. The student organization’s primary focus is to teach students how to use entrepreneurship to become an intrapreneur in the workplace. Sigma Nu Tau provides the fundamentals and resources to create the next leaders of tomorrow.

Sigma Nu Tau supports the University of Iowa John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center (Iowa JPEC) through active participation in events and competitions. Weekly meetings will consist of professional development, luncheons with guest speakers, and professional trips to entrepreneurial-minded companies. Sigma Nu Tau gives students the privilege to meet with inspirational leaders. In previous semesters, guest speakers have been Bruce Harreld, New York Times Best-Selling Author Diana Kander, and many other successful entrepreneurs.

Sigma Nu Tau is a new, elite group of 30 students; 15 juniors and 15 seniors on campus. In spring 2016, 10 new members were inducted into the chapter. At the induction ceremony, each student signed the member book and received a congratulatory letter, certificate of membership, honors society lapel pin, and graduation honor cords. This induction ceremony tradition continues each spring, welcoming new members every year.
