UI Expands Outreach to Western Iowa

A new agreement between The University of Iowa and Western Iowa Tech Community College (WITCC) will allow WITCC students to earn a Certificate in Entrepreneurship from the UI. Okoboji Summer Entrepreneurship Program a Big Success

Twenty-four UI, ISU and UNI students kicked off the first Okoboji Entrepreneurial Institute in August.

Come and listen to prominent merger and acquisition attorney Steven Tonsfeldt of Heller Ehrman LLP this Thursday, Sept. 28 as JPEC kicks off the monthly Entrepreneurial Ventures Group (EVG) lecture series. More...

This fall, JPEC is also implementing a series of academic workshops for faculty, staff, and students to strengthen their knowledge and ability in the area of planning for commercialization. The first workshop, "The Entrepreneurial Process: Ideas to Execution," will be held Oct. 18 from 5-6:30 pm in 3111 SC.

Too Many Good Ideas Surface at Summer Youth Camps

This year's Jacobson Entrepreneurship Academy students just had too many good ideas. Normally, JPEC awards six seed capital awards for the best business plans but this year, one of the judges of the competition thought six wasn't enough and put up $100 of his own money. More...

The camps were featured in the New York Times, BusinessWeek Online, the Des Moines Business Record, and the Cedar Rapids Gazette.
