JPEC develops Internet-based Entrepreneurship Curriculum geared for Iowa classrooms
Iowa teachers participating in the Entrepreneurship in Iowa Schools Program gain access to customized, innovative Internet-based entrepreneurship curriculum created specifically too meet the needs of Iowa classrooms.
Through support from The Coleman Foundation of Chicago, IL, the JPEC has partnered with the Iowa Small Business Advisory Council to develop an IowaYouthBiz Web site. IowaYouthBiz serves as a portal for Iowa teachers participating in the Entrepreneurship in Iowa Schools Program.
In addition to downloading Powerpoint presentations, lesson plans, and activities on key entrepreneurial topics, teachers can post best practices and messages on an online discussion board, helping create a network of Iowa entrepreneurship teachers.
Entrepreneurial topics covered include characteristics of entrepreneurs, opportunity recognition, innovation and creativity, business planning, entrepreneurial finance, and many others.
