The John Pappajohn Entrepreneurship Center

Entrepreneurial Management Institute

The Entrepreneurial Management Institute (EMI) is designed to enhance professional and career advancement skills for top undergraduate students pursuing either a BBA in Management with an Entrepreneurial Management track or the Certificate in Entrepreneurial Management. Students in the EMI will receive individual strategic career development training.

EMI students have the opportunity to work one-to-one with a career development expert, Amy Jo Reimer Myers. EMI students will develop competitive resumes and build dynamic cover letters. They will also develop outstanding communication skills (the #1 ranked skill by employers) and will be well-practiced to interview in any situation, from a phone interview to a one-minute elevator pitch. Each EMI student will build an extensive professional network of contacts with business leaders and alums and build a portfolio of professional examples.

Most importantly, EMI will help focus student searches; whether those searches are for internships or job placement. Through EMI, students begin their career searches early and develop everything they need to compete for their dream job.
