About the Conference

Background

The Collegiate Entrepreneurs Iowa Conference (CEIC) was born after a desire to bring the national Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization Conference experience to university and college entrepreneurship students in the state of Iowa.

Student focus groups conducted by the Kauffman Foundation determined that students were thirsty for a conference experience like this and that students from other institutions would be interested in taking a turn hosting the conference.

In 2002, this one-day conference was held for the first time at Iowa State University. Every year following, the conference has rotated around the state of Iowa also being held at The University of Iowa, The University of Northern Iowa, North Iowa Area Community College and Drake University.
