The John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center (JPEC) at The University of Iowa is committed to increasing entrepreneurial activity across the state of Iowa. A select team of successful entrepreneurs and business experts are available to assist Iowa entrepreneurs pursue their dreams of business ownership.

Get Help from UI Faculty & Staff

The John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center (JPEC) and the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) provide high-quality counseling and information services to startups and small businesses in the areas of management, marketing, financial forecasting, and attracting capital. Educational programs are regularly offered on a variety of topics that include taxes, accounting systems, business planning, OSHA, franchising, and business plan development.

Get Help from UI Students

During the fall and spring semesters, interdisciplinary student teams are formed to complete advanced business projects for aspiring entrepreneurs and early-stage companies in Iowa. These projects typically include market assessments of new technology products or services, strategic planning, financial forecasting, and business planning. This initiate provides a valuable educational opportunity to UI entrepreneurship students while offering area companies quality business consulting services.
