ELIGIBILITY

  1. Students must be currently enrolled as a part-time or full-time student at the University of Iowa.
  2. Students must be earning the Certificate in Entrepreneurial Management, Technological Entrepreneurship Certificate, Certificate in Arts Entrepreneurship, Certificate in Media Entrepreneurialism, BA in Enterprise Leadership, BBA in Management: Entrepreneurial Management Track, or be a current or former participant in Founders Club.
  3. After being selected as a scholarship recipient, students are required to write a thank you letter to the donor responsible for sponsoring the award before they can receive their scholarship.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Clifford M. Baumback Entrepreneurial Studies Award
The Clifford M. Baumback Entrepreneurial Studies Award is a $1,000 scholarship awarded to one undergraduate student who is entering his or her senior year  and demonstrating outstanding achievement in entrepreneurial studies. Mrs. Janice Baumback established this award in memory of her husband, Clifford Baumback, who was a University of Iowa faculty member from 1953 until his retirement in 1980, as a professor emeritus. He was the first director of the University of Iowa Institute for Entrepreneurial Management in 1979.

Evan Gettert Entrepreneurial Studies Scholarship
Iowa JPEC will award the Evan Gettert Entrepreneurial Studies Scholarship to an undergraduate entrepreneurship student or member of the Founders Club who has a significant interest in entrepreneurial studies. Evan’s Dream, A Nonprofit Organization, is the sponsor of this scholarship.

John & Mary Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Scholarships
The John & Mary Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Scholarships are awarded to students taking entrepreneurial courses and affiliated with the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center (Iowa JPEC).

Keith Chiavetta  Venture Fund Entrepreneurial Program Scholarship
The Keith Chiavetta Scholarship will be awarded to a student entrepreneur who has started and is currently operating a tech-based business. This student should also enroll in at least one of the University of Iowa John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center’s (Iowa JPEC) competitions throughout the academic year. This scholarship is provided through a generous donation from Keith Chiavetta, one of the center’s esteemed adjunct lecturers.

Leighty-Nelson Scholarships
Up to two scholarships funded by Ike Leighty and the Leighty Foundation will be awarded to students participating in the Certificate of Entrepreneurial Management program. Both graduate and undergraduate students are eligible to receive the award.

Oldorf  Entrepreneurial Studies Scholarship
Iowa JPEC will award several $1,000 Oldorf Scholarships to graduate or undergraduate entrepreneurship students who have significant interest in entrepreneurial studies. Donna Oldorf is the sponsor of this scholarship.

William B. Smith Business Scholarship
Iowa JPEC will award one $1,000 William B. Smith Business Scholarship to an undergraduate entrepreneurship student majoring in Entrepreneurial Management. William B. Smith is the sponsor of this scholarship.

Robert & Happy Millen Entrepreneurial Scholarship
Iowa JPEC will award the Bob & Happy Millen Entrepreneurial Scholarship to a graduate or undergraduate student who is participating in the Certificate of Entrepreneurial Management program or pursuing a degree in Entrepreneurial Management.  Bob and Happy Millen are the sponsors of this scholarship.

Voss Family Fund for Entrepreneurship
Iowa JPEC will award the Voss Family Fund for Entrepreneurship Scholarship to an undergraduate student studying entrepreneurship, preferably from the N. Scott High School or Scott County, IA.

Lee’s Lab Entrepreneurial Fund Scholarship
The Lee Lab Entrepreneurial Fund Scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in the entrepreneurial program.  Preference is given to Iowa residents.
