The University of Iowa’s John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center (Iowa JPEC) is committed to being a national leader in teaching and supporting innovation and entrepreneurial development. That’s why we’ve created a unique, cross-campus program through partnerships with the Colleges of Business, Engineering, Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Medicine.
Our campus-wide approach allows us to reach any University of Iowa (UI) student, no matter their field of study, through our nationally ranked academic programs and real-world learning opportunities.
All UI undergraduate students may earn a Certificate in Entrepreneurial Management in addition to their undergraduate degree. Alternatively, business students may choose to receive a BBA in Management with an Entrepreneurial Management track. Students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences can choose an entrepreneurial path by selecting the BA in Enterprise Leadership. The Certificate and BBA in Entrepreneurial Management are offered to students both on-campus and online. In addition, advanced entrepreneurship courses are also offered to MBA students on campus and at several locations across the state of Iowa.
We’re proud to play an important role in the development of Iowa-based technology and high-growth start-up companies. Whether it’s welcoming a new member to Founders Club, awarding seed grants to aspiring companies through competitions, providing business consulting services, or directing UI students on advanced field study projects, we seek to support the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs.
We believe that innovation can occur at any age. Our affiliate, Jacobson Institute for Youth Entrepreneurship provides K-12 students access to a wide variety of classroom and practical educational experiences. While, our affiliate UI Small Business Development Center specializes in community outreach initiatives.
Throughout the year, we provide a number of opportunities to UI students, faculty and staff, as well as the community at large. Visit our online Calendar of Events and stay up-to-date with on our latest news by reading our blog and subscribing to our monthly newsletters.
