Matthew is an Associate Attorney for Moyer and Bergman, P.L.C. in Cedar Rapids. He specializes in business, real estate, tax and criminal defense law. Previously, he worked for Leff, Haupert, Traw & Willman L.L.P. as an Associate Attorney and served as a Legal Research Assistant at The University of Iowa.

Jay Christensen-Szalanski
Jay has over 25 years experience in health care, consulting, and management. His teaching experience includes resolving conflict, changing organizational cultures, improving negotiation skills, structuring complex decisions, generating creative problem solutions, managing an angry public, and improving the cost-effectiveness of health care. Jay currently has ownership in two Iowa-based companies.

Joseph (Joe) George
Joe retired in January 2007 after 24 years as the Executive Vice-President of media research consulting firm Frank N. Magid Associates, Inc. He was actively involved in the start-up of the firm’s international and entertainment divisions and also oversaw sales and marketing for other divisions of the firm. Following the international office opening in 1989, Joe assisted with the launch of seven national television networks in Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. Prior to Magid, he was Vice President and General Manager for CBS affiliates in Texas and Mississippi, leading both from 3rd place to 1st place in overall ratings. Joe has consulted a number of broadcast, publishing, entertainment, and general industry clients both in the U.S. and abroad and was the 2002 Hearst Visiting Professional at the Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University.

Rob Gettemy
Rob is co-founder and President of 1M4JC.com which is a Christian T-shirt sales and social networking site launching in early 2008. He is also is a partner in Acceleration Management Group, a start-up consulting firm focusing on high potential technology companies. Previously, Rob started and sold two business to business service companies. In addition, he has 15 years corporate executive management experience with an emphasis on merger and acquisition integration, operations and marketing.

Scott Hauser
Scott is a Director at RSM McGladrey, Inc., the leading national business consulting, accounting, and tax firm that focuses on middle-market owner-managed companies. Scott's business consulting roll includes assisting clients with strategy, profit improvement, acquisitions, business process improvements, obtaining expansion financing and other miscellaneous assistance. Prior to RSM McGladrey, Scott was employed in a variety of capacities including Finance Manager, Director of Administrative Services and Senior Auditor for a wide variety of entities.

David K. Hensley
David is Executive Director of JPEC and Clinical Professor. He has over 16 years experience in entrepreneurial education, business consulting and management. David's teaching experience includes advanced entrepreneurship courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels; community entrepreneurial education courses in the classroom and through distance learning technology; Iowa high school teacher training programs; and youth summer camps. He has provided start-up and management consulting services to several companies throughout the Midwest, specializing in business valuation, financial analysis, and economic modeling. David currently has ownership in three Iowa-based companies.

Kirk Hiland
Kirk started his real estate career as a sophomore at The University of Iowa. For many years he was a Brokerage Sales Manager, and then became active in land development and residential and commercial construction while owning his own Brokerage in Cedar Rapids. With over 30 years of experience in the field, Kirk is a Certified General Real Property Appraiser in Iowa. He currently works as a broker associate at NAI Iowa Realty Commercial, specializing in commercial leasing and sales and land development and investment.

Bob Holland
Bob is a Principal Associate of Iowa Realty Commercial in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He has 20 years of exclusive commercial real estate activity with Iowa Realty Commercial and is backed by 25 years of corporate industrial experience in production, sales and marketing and administrative responsibilities. Start-up and ownership of a successful twenty year old small business provides an experienced base for handling the sale of local businesses and franchises. Bob has a strong background in lease negotiations and has specialized in like-kind property exchanges since 1991.

Lynn Allendorf
Having broad experience in team building and team dynamics gives Lynn Allendorf an edge as an instructor of entrepreneurial subjects in the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center. Lynn also serves as JPEC's Managing Director, BELL & Community Outreach. As Vice President of Product Development for The Learning Company's Parsons Technology Division, Lynn managed the development and marketing of the company's $30 million productivity division including the Quicken Family Lawyer product line, serving the company in various capacities before founding her own company, 215 Technology, Inc. in 1999. Her extensive experience in software development also includes the Silicon Valley companies Intuit and Broderbund as well as Rockwell Collins. In addition to teaching, Lynn has recently been involved with Optimal Electronics Corporation, an early phase startup company based in Iowa City. Her expertise is in consumer product marketing, both direct and retail, software development, and entrepreneurship.

Richard McCarty

Dennis Schrag
Dennis is a faculty member in the Department of Management and Organizations in the Tippie College of Business at The University of Iowa. He is also the owner of The Longview Group, a new management consulting firm that specializes in professional service firms. Prior to joining The University of Iowa, Dennis was the Corporate Marketing Manager of The Stanley Group in Muscatine, Iowa. Dennis was responsible for marketing functions and sales support coordination, including market research. He has also served as the Director of Marketing and the Manager of Human Resources at Howard R. Green Company Consulting Engineers, and the CEO of the Amana Society, Inc.

John Spitzer
John is a Clinical Professor of Finance at the Henry B. Tippie College of Business, The University of Iowa. He is also the Treasurer for the Eastern Iowa Angel Investors LLC, a group of more than 20 individual investors who have pooled their funds for business investment. Management of the funds and the investment decisions are accomplished as a group, following a series of internally adopted procedures and guidelines. Before joining The University of Iowa in 1995, John was a Vice President at Salomon Brothers Inc; Vice President at Fannie Mae; Senior Economist at the Federal Reserve Board; and Vice President and Managing Director at the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco.

Joseph Sulentic
Joseph started his first business while an undergrad at UCLA. Applying information learned from his monetary policy classes, he took advantage of a strong dollar and imported Porsches and Ferraris. After receiving his undergraduate degree in economics, Mr. Sulentic spent two years as a Formula 3 racecar driver in Italy. Upon his return to the United States, he pursued his MBA from The University of Iowa and started Terra X Clothing Co.; an apparel design and manufacturing firm specializing in automotive related themes. His firm has produced for such clients as Porsche, Ford, Ferrari, Jaguar, and NASCAR.

Deanna Trumbull
Deanna Trumbull has 15 years of experience in shopping center management, retail leasing and marketing. Prior to starting her own consulting business in May 2003, she was a Group Manager for General Growth Properties overseeing four regional shopping centers located in Iowa (Coral Ridge Mall in Coralville), Missouri and Illinois. Deanna has received Certified Shopping Center Management accreditation and has her real estate license.

Michael Wood
Michael brings extensive experience and entrepreneurial expertise to his teaching. He is currently chairman of the board and CEO of Cedar Valley Transport, Inc., a transportation and logistics company he founded in 1997, located in Cedar Rapids. Prior to starting Cedar Valley Transport, he served as president of CRST, Inc. Earlier in his career, he was a consultant for Price Waterhouse & Co. and employed by Lennox Industries, Inc.
